Summary of Clinical Experience
|Dr. Jehan Titus
Jehan went to school at Melbourne Grammar and graduated from Shore School in Sydney. He completed his medical degree at UNSW. He did his internship and general surgical training through Sydney’s northern rotation. His urology training was on the New South Wales Training Programme. He sat and passed his Urology Fellowship Examination on his first attempt. His fellowship was at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and subsequently underwent a fellowship in Seattle Washington under world leading prostate cancer expert Dr Peter Grimm where he was introduced to MRI guided prostate treatment and diagnosis and rectal spacer technology.
He has a strong interest in laser surgery for kidney stones and prostate diseases being the lead clinician at the Royal Adelaide Hospital for HoLEP for over ten years. He has pioneered the use of computer guided biopsies in Adelaide and is actively involved in research involving bringing MRI/PET fusion technology into both diagnostic and treatment modalities in Adelaide. He also has an interest in Functional Urology, Urodynamics and Neurotoxin and Neuromodulation for bladder overactivity.
He was the first Urologist in South Australia to perform the following procedures: MRI fusion biopsies (2012), PET-MRI fusion (2020), Rezum steam vaporisation, EVOLVE Laser photo-selective vaporisation of the prostate (2013), Space OAR insertion to reduce toxicity of radiotherapy (2012) and non-invasive male urodynamics (2015).
He is still actively involved in research. His current project is refining live implant prostate brachytherapy using MRI and PET fusion to treat prostate cancer and potentially investigate the potential for focal prostate therapy.
He is a Senior Consultant Urologist at Royal Adelaide Hospital. He also operates at Ashford, St. Andrews, Calvary North Adelaide and visits Port Lincoln and Whyalla.
He has had Internationally recognised training in brachytherapy and is a Member and Contributor to the Prostate Cancer Free Foundation (https://www.prostatecancerfree.org).
